Breaking news from FDA: “Little evidence” supporting “Low-T” treatments

Last month, I told you about a new FDA regulation that requires all approved testosterone products to carry a warning label regarding the risk of blood clots.  Earlier in the year, the agency announced that it was investigating the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and death in men who take FDA-approved testosterone products. (Yet, amazingly the FDA says there is no connection between their warning about blood clots and their concern about the risk of heart attacks and strokes. For the rest of the medical world, Pathology 101 tells us that blood clots are the cause of heart attacks and strokes!)

And just this week, the FDA made yet another announcement regarding testosterone therapy.

On Wednesday, agency officials released a statement saying that there is “little evidence” to support the use of “Low-T” treatments.

Of course in typical government double-speak, the agency was quick to say it was “unconvinced” that testosterone replacement poses serious risks to the millions of men who currently take it. (Unconvinced? Then why add a warning label to these products?)

Whether or not the desk jockeys at the FDA really believe it (and who can tell?), there is a great deal of data showing that the risks associated with “Low-T” treatments can be very real–and very serious. And now it turns out these drugs don’t even work.  So, what’s the point of all these super-hyped treatments

(other than more profits for big pharma)? All the risk with no reward.

I’ll tell you more about these risky drugs in Monday’s Daily Dispatch…and about a promising, new, natural, SAFE vitality-booster for men. So be sure to stay tuned for this important news.
