Throughout my 40-year career, I have found most “anti-aging” remedies don’t work because they focus on cosmetic concerns, and don’t address underlying aspects of aging that make you FEEL old — which is far worse than looking old.
In my view, there are three “silent” killers of youth that nearly everyone ignores…or simply accepts. The first is lagging energy. It is far and away the No. 1 enemy of youth. It goes back to the old adage, you’re only as old as you feel. And it makes sense — the less energy you have, the less active you become. And less activity leads to stiff joints, weak muscles, slow brain response, even heart and blood sugar concerns.
But when it comes to boosting energy, many Americans make two crucial mistakes.
First, they simply throw up their hands and accept their lack of energy as a normal part of aging. And their active lifestyle comes to a screeching halt, or just slows imperceptibly.
Or, instead of accepting their fate, they drink large amounts of caffeine to get an immediate boost. This will perk you up for a couple hours, and there ARE many health benefits associated with certain caffeinated beverages (especially coffee), as I will review again later this month.
But there’s a much better way to energize your body — at the cellular level.
The natural energy booster everyone over the age of 40 should be taking
For the longest time, science didn’t have a healthy answer to lagging energy. But then in 1978, a scientist named Peter Mitchell stumbled onto an amazing enzyme known as coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). As I’ve explained before, CoQ10 nourishes your mitochondria, your cells’ energy factories. To be more specific, it helps every cell in your body turn oxygen and nutrients into energy. It’s also a powerful antioxidant that hunts down harmful, age-inducing free radicals, which is good news for your skin, your joints, your brain function, and more.
Unfortunately, CoQ10 levels deplete as you age. Plus, if you take a statin drug, your CoQ10 levels run out even faster!
That’s why I recommend everyone take a quality CoQ10 supplement, every day. It’s truly an essential part of any daily regimen.
Now, let’s move on to the second silent killer of youth…
The “silent youth killer” sidelining 52 million Americans
We all hope to maintain an active lifestyle as we get older.
But as you age, your bones can get weaker and lead to broken hips, spines, wrists, ankles — you name it. And nothing can slow down a person faster.
In fact, the Department of Health and Human Services estimates poor bone health slows down an estimated 52 million people in the U.S. alone.
Now, you may be thinking…“But I’m careful, I’m not going to break a bone.”
I wish it were that simple.
It turns out one in five men, and around half of all women, over 50 will break a bone. And I’m sure many of them were just as careful as you are.
You can’t avoid breaking bones just by being careful. You must also have optimal levels of vitamin D.
Unfortunately, many older Americans just don’t get enough vitamin D. In fact, a whopping 40 percent of people over age 65 don’t have sufficient amounts of it in their system!
Without a doubt, vitamin D is a critical link to achieving and maintaining optimal bone health — and, in turn, staying spry and active well into your 60s, 70s, and beyond. In fact, in a five-year study published in the British Medical Journal, researchers followed more than 2,000 men and women over age 65. They found that supplementing with just 800 IU of vitamin D every day helped support strong bones, especially in the hips, wrists, forearm, and backbone.
Now, let’s discuss the third and final “silent killer of youth.”
Misplaced keys don’t need to be a running joke in your house
Brain fog is the third silent killer of youth.
And most people accept “senior moments” — like misplacing your keys, or forgetting someone’s name — as an unavoidable part of aging. But these common memory mishaps don’t need to be a running joke in your household anymore.
A breakthrough study published recently in the renowned medical journal Neurology explains why brain function slows down as we age…and what we can do to stop it.
You see, a protective layer of healthy fats called the myelin sheath helps insulate nerves to effectively carry electrical impulses and signals throughout your brain and body. If your nerves’ myelin sheaths are strong and healthy, signals travel through the brain quickly and easily. But as you age, these myelin sheaths can break down, causing brain signals to slow to a crawl.
That’s where vitamin B12 comes in.
The researchers in the new study theorized that you need adequate levels of vitamin B12 to keep your myelin sheath strong and sealed, helping to send brain signals at a rapid-fire pace. And to prove it, they followed a group of 516 people over the age of 65 for more than six years. When given cognitive tests, the participants with normal levels of vitamin B12 blew away their B12-deficient peers.
I have long known about the positive benefits of B12. And it should also be a part of any true healthy aging regimen.
The good news is, all of these supplements — CoQ10, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 — are readily available. Of course, if all of this sounds like a lot to swallow, there is a simpler option…one that also ensures you’re getting quality sources of these critical youth-promoting nutrients.
I’m talking about my CoreCell Essentials formula. When I developed this formula, I did not want to formulate just another run-of-the-mill multivitamin that tries (and fails) to help you with random individual symptoms of aging. I formulated a one-of-a-kind healthy aging powerhouse that focuses specifically on the “core-essentials” and helps protect your body from the ravages of time.
I made sure to add an active dose of B12 into my CoreCell Essentials formula. In every single dose of CoreCell, you’ll get 333 percent of your minimum daily value of vitamin B12. (You’ll also get 250 percent of your daily value of vitamin B6, which helps support synthesis of more than eight neurotransmitters used to fire information among brain cells. You’ll also get 167 percent of your daily value of the brain-cell-boosting vitamin B1.)
CoreCell Essentials also includes 1,000 IU of bone-supporting vitamin D3 in every dose, along with 50 mg of CoQ10 — the secret to energizing your body at the cellular level.
Indeed, the increased energy you will feel with CoreCell Essentials helps create a “trickle down” effect. As you feel more energized, you’ll stay more active, your joints may start to feel smoother, and your memory may feel sharper. And that’s just the beginning.
What’s more, all the dosages in CoreCell Essentials are designed to be compatible with taking any other dietary supplement in my Smart Science line of supplements.
If you haven’t tried CoreCell Essentials yet, I encourage you to check it out.
And see for yourself how simple it is to beat back the silent killers of youth and feel better — and younger — than you have in years.
