According to a new study, two remarkable supplements can protect you from dying of a heart attack, nearly a decade after you stop taking them! According to a new study, this could be “a major reset of the drivers of disease and health.”
If you ask me, it sounds like much more than a “major reset.” In fact, it sounds like a cure for America’s No. 1 killer.
Supplements protect you for 12 years — even if you stop taking them!
For the new study out of Linkoping University in Sweden, researchers looked specifically at the protective effects of CoQ10 and selenium for cardiovascular health.
At the study’s outset, researchers divided approximately 440 healthy older participants into two groups. One group received 200 mg of CoQ10 and 200 mcg of organic selenium yeast tablets daily for four years, while the other group received a placebo.
Twelve years after supplementation ended, the researchers followed up with the participants.
Turns out, the group who took CoQ10 and selenium had a 40 percent lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease than the placebo group — even though they stopped taking it 12 years earlier! (Cardiovascular mortality for the supplement group was 28 percent compared to 39 percent in the placebo group.)
That risk reduction persisted among participants with all the well-known cardiac risk factors, including coronary heart disease, Type II diabetes, or high blood pressure.
We can draw four very important conclusions from these findings…
Notably persistent, all-natural benefits
First, this prospective clinical trial had a good number of participants. But it’s nowhere near the “huge” numbers we see in the big, expensive, studies that get all the money and attention.
And usually, the more people in a study, the better the statistical significance or “p value,” which tells us how major the findings are, assuming there’s a real effect.
But in this small study, the statistical significance was HUGE — despite not having really large numbers of participants.
In fact, this was just about the most impressive “p value” I’d ever seen in a study!
Which means the effect was remarkably significant and persistent.
Second, this simple treatment even worked for participants who — at the start of the study — had baseline Type II diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and/or serious cardiac impairment. Which makes the results even more significant, as it protected those with pre-existing conditions.
Third, the difference between the supplement group and the placebo group got bigger over time. So, the magnitude of the supplement benefits continued to increase as time went on.
Lastly, the results were phenomenal in terms of the statistical significance among women, at an amazingly good “p value,” which I hadn’t seen before in a study.
When separating out the men, the statistical significance was still plenty good. Surely, this would send mainstream doctors into an absolute frenzy if any drug were able to achieve outcomes such as these — which of course, has NEVER happened for a drug.
Have you ever heard of a “miracle” drug that you can reap the benefits of, even 12 years after discontinuing it? Certainly not.
And especially not for a chronic condition like heart disease.
Instead, mainstream docs sentence you to a lifetime of toxic, useless drugs to “manage” your condition and all those supposed “risk factors” — because their intervention methods won’t really cure the real issues. In fact, they want you to become a lifelong customer. The more drugs you take, the more money they make.
By contrast, we now know dietary supplements work because the same nutrients that prevent the disease can also reverse it, even long after you stop taking them.
Of course, when you take a drug, it’s like trying to hit a screw on the head with a hammer. You get all the effects — intended or unintended — right away. Plus, they don’t initiate true healing in the body. They only mask the symptoms.
Dietary supplements, on the other hand, are more like screwdrivers — gently and gradually moving your body back into a state of health. That’s why I advise taking them for at least two to three months to garner the most benefits.
Indeed, dietary supplements take effect slowly over time, because it’s really your body that’s doing the natural healing and resetting.
Conquer heart disease by correcting two simple nutrient deficiencies
Part of my fascination with this study stems from the fact that most people are deficient in CoQ10 and selenium to begin with.
So, by correcting this simple deficiency, or inadequacy, you can actually permanently reverse — or dare I say “cure” yourself of — the nation’s No. 1 killer in both men and women.
To me, these dietary supplements actually sound like a reliable, lifelong cure — not just another treatment to “manage” your medical condition.
For long-lasting heart protection, I recommend daily supplementation with the following:
- CoQ10, 200 mg
- Selenium, 200 to 400 mcg
CAUTION: While selenium toxicity is rare, it’s something you should be aware of. To avoid that potential toxicity, I recommend keeping intake at or below 400 mcg per day.
Organic forms of selenium, such as selenomethionine, are absorbed as well as sodium selenite salt, but can persist in the body longer and thus theoretically pose a higher risk of toxicity.
